Finland occupies leading positions among industrialized nations in a number of sectors of industry and agriculture. Many bilateral projects have been successfully fulfilled in these areas, many others are ongoing. What can be done by government authorities to facilitate these projects? Regional development, preservation of existing jobs and creation of new production facilities are common to both countries although each country has its own specific distribution of powers between central and local governments, legislative and executive branches of power, budget financing and taxation as well as regulation of financial and insurance markets and banking systems.
